A friend just alerted me to the movie, Expelled: No Intellilgence Allowed, coming this spring.

As I checked out the trailers, and other information, it looks like the film should be a good one.

I’ve read for some time how professors lose their tenure and are blacklisted for believing in Intelligent Design or Creationism.  It looks as if Ben Stein plans to expose this kind of behavior.

I don’t know much more at this time, but will update this post if I learn more.

I am not endorsing any political candidate, but it is interesting that belief in evolution should be considered a part of a presidential debate.

This is Mike Huckabee’s response.

He did an excellent job, but unfortunately, like many Christians, he does not know how long or how God created. Please go to Answers In Genesis and find answers to those questions. It is important for Christians to know how, how long, when, and why God created.

Volcanoes DO Form Rapidly December 6, 2007

You will enjoy the photos of this eye-witness account of a rapidly-forming volcano and the strange phenomenon of stones floating on the ocean as far as they could see.

Another recently-formed island is Surtsey, off of Iceland which became an island in November of 1963.

Surtsey offers a great lesson that what scientists long attribute to long time periods can actually happen quickly. Geologic features formed in weeks, not in decades or centuries.

I recommend this article, which appeared in yesterday’s Washington Post, about a significant Hadrosaur fossil find in North Dakota .  The fossil, named Dakota, is almost like seeing a dinosaur made out of stone.

Dakota has already improved our knowledge of hadrosaurs.   From studying this fossil, scientists concluded hadrosaur’s tails were longer and their “backside was about 25 percent larger than previously thought.”   Dakota’s fossilized scales are three-dimensional and the palm had a fleshy pad.

You may also want to view a slide show of the excavation and a reconstruction of Dakota.

The Hydroplate Theory November 30, 2007

I first learned of this theory proposed by Dr. Walter Brown on a TV special around 1986 . You can know see the six-minute interview of Dr. Brown from this special on YouTube. The interview included an animation of his theory. This is one of my favorite videos. His theory gives a very plausible explanation of how the flood occurred.

You might want to visit Dr. Brown’s web site and/or order his book, In The Beginning: Compelling Evidence for Creation and the Flood. His book is on my bookshelf and I have used his material frequently for presenting creation evidence to students and other groups.

You can read the entire book online.
